In our continued and successful collaboration with Cambridge United Football Club, Identity Creative has helped drive the Marie Curie Swimathon Campaign with a launch by the Youth Academy Team at Cambridge’s Abbey Leisure Complex.

As Cambridge United Football Club supports Marie Curie, the UK’s leading charity for people living with a terminal illness and their families, Youth Team Manager Mark Bonner said: “Cambridge United is passionate about the local community and participating in good causes such as this. Developing young upstanding citizens that are able to give back is an integral part of our training philosophy – we look to discover talent, drive ambition and inspire our scholars to make a positive difference.”

The Swimathon, which starts on Friday 7 April ahead of CUFC’s home game against Leighton Orient will see the CUFC Youth Academy dive in on Sunday 9 April, as part of the world’s biggest annual fundraising swim.

Peter Sara, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie said: “The support from Cambridge United is testament to the club’s community commitment and we already have 50 people taking part in Swimathon at the Abbey Leisure Complex in Cambridge. With the backing of Cambridge United we hope more people will sign up to this or one of our 15 pools across Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. The money raised will help Marie Curie provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families.”
